Bold Tech and Clean Power: The 2025 Volkswagen ID.4

The 2025 Volkswagen ID.4 isn't your run-of-the-mill electric compact SUV. With value-priced models on offer, the ID.4 is perfect for families and budget-conscious buyers alike. Let's take a look at what it offers. Exploring the Versatility of the 2025 Volkswagen ID.4 Performance and Range The ID.4 has three performance options to suit varying driving needs. The standard rear-wheel drive setup with the smaller 58-kWh battery produces 201 horsepower, sports a 7.3-second 60-mph time, and has 206 miles of estimated range. This setup is perfect for those who need a reliable vehicle to get them to and from work every day. The ID.4's tight turning radius makes for easy parking in small city parking stalls and is ideal for parallel parking. Sticking with rear-wheel drive but upgrading to the 77-kWh battery delivers 282 horsepower and 291 miles of EPA-estimated range. It also makes the daily commute slightly more fun with its 4.8-second 60-mph time. If that's still not enough power, there's the all-wheel drive ID.4, which uses the bigger battery to produce 335 horsepower. Like all EVs, regenerative braking uses the energy generated from the vehicle's deceleration to efficiently recharge the battery. Styling and Comfort The ID.4's interior has a contemporary design, with ambient lighting and high-tech features. In the base model, the front seats come with standard heating functions, which is a pleasantly surprising feature for its attractive price point. The Pro S trim and higher unlocks faux-leather upholstery and 12-way power adjustable front seats that have ventilation and memory settings. These higher trims can also be fashioned with a Black Package and an auto-dimming side mirror. The ID.4 seats five passengers and has plenty of cargo space for grocery hauls, camping trips, and much more. Behind the second-row seats is 30.3 cubic feet of space, which can be expanded to 64.2 cubic feet when the 60/40-split seats are folded down. There is additional storage space under the load floor, inside the large door pockets, and in the configurable center console. Technology and Connectivity A 12-inch infotainment touchscreen comes standard, but a slightly bigger 12.9-inch display is available. For 2025, Volkswagen updated the software menus and added backlit controls for the climate system and volume to improve handling after dark. Natural voice commands can control various functions when subscribed to the Plus Speech add-on. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available as an optional feature, as are numerous USB ports for device charging. The Volkswagen ID.4 offers a spacious cabin, modern design, dependable performance, and advanced technology. The incredible versatility of this electric SUV ensures that everyone can find an ID.4 that suits them, from the most budget-minded to the luxury seekers. DO YOU LIKE TO SAVE MONEY?

Of course! We all do. Save big at our semi-annual tire event. At Hewlett VW, we’re all about helping you save money! From now until October 31st, when you buy 3 tires, you’ll get the 4th for just $1. Plus, all our OEM factory tires come with Free 2-Year Road Hazard coverage at no extra cost!  If you happen to get a nail or damage your tire from a road hazard, Volkswagen will replace it for free—you only pay for mounting and balancing if needed. This coverage can save you an average of $250-$350 per tire! And don’t forget our Tire Price Match Guarantee! Whether at the time of purchase or within 30 days, just talk to your Service Advisor to go over the details. Come in and take advantage of these great savings! What do I need to know about tires? Tires are of utmost importance when it comes to mobility and safety. They can make a significant difference in traction and stopping distances especially in wet conditions. Driving on worn tires is like walking in shoes with worn-out soles. It makes for a difficult walk and can cause mishaps. On average, people drive about 25-50 mph in the city and 50-80 mph on the highway. In an emergency, if you are driving with worn tires, your stopping distance increases, especially on wet roads. In a recent study, the stopping distance of vehicles was compared based on tire tread. It took 8 car lengths more to stop in wet conditions with worn tires measuring at 4/32nds compared to new tires at 10/32nds. Nearly 10 car lengths more, with tires worn down to 2/32nds. This is important to think about as it can be pertinent in an emergency. At what measurement are tires ok? New tire tread depths can vary. They vary depending on the type of application, tread design, tread profile, and measurement. This is due to the types of tires such as all-season tires, passenger tires, off-road tires, and performance tires.  On average, our new tires start at 10/32nds. 10/32 - 7/32nds is considered a good tire. 6/32nds - 5/32nds is considered acceptable. You should plan to have them replaced, if not now, then soon. 4/32nds or below, should be replaced. 3/32nds is at the wear bar indicator. Units measuring under 2/32nds are considered unsafe and must be replaced immediately to meet legal safety standards. Please stop by anytime without an appointment, and one of our Service Advisors would be happy to review your tires with you and provide a printed health report to ensure peace of mind. Unti next time, happy motoring! Samantha Gomez, Service Drive Manager

APPROACHING A FULL YEAR IN OUR NEW BUILDING

It’s hard to imagine that some 8-10 (maybe 12) years ago, we started talking about what we needed in terms of a new facility here at Hewlett Volkswagen in Georgetown.  With all the growth in central Texas, growth in our local market and growth in our very own staff, we knew a much larger facility was a must - but that was a long time ago…. Fast forward to now, the growth in all areas mentioned above is far more than we could have ever expected. While it took a ton of planning, design modifications, brand approvals and frankly, future sales and service volume forecasting, we finally started building and finished last November. It’s now been almost a full year and the move back into the new facility could not have gone better.  The success of our own beloved Volkswagen franchise right her in little Georgetown, Texas has far surpassed anyone’s imagination. I just returned from our national Volkswagen dealer meeting in Orlando, Florida (first meeting since COVID).  These national dealer meetings are huge!  This is where they lay out future business plans for the company (VW of America), marketing plans, growth expectations as well as showcase future products.  Yes, they drive cars on stage with all the lights and booming sounds for excitement.  It’s a big deal and a big production. During the speeches from the VW executives, they put a giant map of the United States on the screen (took up the entire auditorium) highlighted Georgetown, Texas - and gave Hewlett Volkswagen a shoutout for going from ranked number 51 in the nation this time a year ago, to being currently ranked number 5 in the nation!  Largest jump in rankings in the entire country. While we couldn’t be prouder of our team, none of this is possible without you, our valued customer.  It’s you that trusted us to be your car dealer. You trusted our products, trusted our state-of-the-art service and parts facility and trusted our highly trained staff to take care of your vehicle for years to come and for that we couldn’t be more appreciative. You are the true winner here! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!  We’re so glad to be a part of this community and hope we see you soon! John Chauvin – General Manager Hewlett Volkswagen, LP

MAKING SENSE OF EVs

While change sometimes takes time to get used to - sometimes we change instantly, and yet other times we drag it out as long as we can before we’re forced to change.  There’s certainly no shortage of thoughts, comments and concerns when talking about EV's (electric vehicles).  I’d like to go back in time and think how other things in our lives have changed vs. how they used to be, will be. more Obviously the number one concern when considering the purchase of an EV is what we call “range anxiety”.  This concern is two-fold.  Not only is range a concern but how and where to re-fuel (charge) when empty is. Going back to my statement of “back in time” I think to myself, what did our parents and grandparents have to do when planning a road trip?  They had to pull out the old trusty paper road map.  They would look and measure the distance between towns for food, fuel, lodging, etc. and plan accordingly.  I guess to some degree, it’s the same for EV customers.  So, in that respect, it’s not much different.  Today’s technology includes multiple apps on our phones that list charging station locations which makes trip planning very easy. Here’s the neat thing about EV’s.  You don’t buy gas anymore, which is a huge plus.  The Volkswagen EV SUV (dubbed the ID.4), is loaded with technology, making it fun and cool to drive and the power is incredible!  Imagine how fast your kitchen blender gets up to full speed when you switch it from the “off" position to its fastest setting. An EV does the same being that it too is electric. Another great thing…. Leasing.  If you lease an ID.4 (and soon the ID.BUZZ) you get an instant $7,500 federal government incentive without having any IRS income requirements or limitations. The incentive is available to everyone on a lease.  Also, if you do lease, you’re only paying for the first part of the car’s life and you’re not obligated any further past your 2-, 3- or 4-year lease.  If the technology gets outdated, you have the option to swap it out at the end of your lease term.  Leasing does consist of 90% or more of all our ID.4 sales at Hewlett Volkswagen, it’s that popular. Yes, I mentioned the ID.Buzz above, and yes, it’s coming at the end of this year.  This retro looking bus EV will turn heads no matter where you’re at and the only thing retro about it is the look - but even that is decorated with a very modern touch.  The technology will once again be far and above what any of us can imagine.  We are super excited about this vehicle as it promises to be one of the biggest new vehicle launches in a long time.  Although we do not have pricing yet, we do have a great selection already on our allocation list slated for dealer inventory in the fourth quarter.  Interested in learning more about a Volkswagen EV?  Come see us today. Happy Summer to all and thank you very much for your continued support. John Chauvin General Manager Hewlett Volkswagen, LP

FUEL SAVING TIPS!

Oil prices have increased, fuel prices have gone up and us consumers are paying more at the pump. It is never too late to think about what we can do to save on fuel costs, especially as we prepare for summer road trips. These driving tips can help you save money, time, and headaches! To optimize your fuel efficiency: Keep tires properly inflated, Accelerate and brake gently and gradually, Turn your vehicle off while idling, Remove any excessive weight in your cargo area, and Use cruise control when appropriate. Vehicle Maintenance is pertinent for improving fuel economy: Replace your tires when needed: Tires affect vehicle fuel efficiency primarily through rolling resistance. Uneven and low tread patterns force your vehicle to work harder to gain traction. Check your vehicle alignment: If the alignment is off, it makes the vehicle work harder when steering which leads to the use of more fuel. Replace a dirty engine air filter: Dirty air filters pass less air into the engine causing air restrictions. Replace fuel filter: A clogged fuel filter decreases fuel efficiency and prevents smooth acceleration. Replace spark plugs: Worn spark plugs prevent your engine from efficiently burning all of the fuel in the combustion chamber resulting in wasted gas. Keep up with your oil changes: Regular oil changes help improve your fuel mileage. Clean oil moving through your engine lubricates the metal parts increasing your engine performance. This helps it run more efficiently with less work. Let Hewlett Volkswagen help you save money and ensure your vehicle is ready for the road. Stop by during normal service business hours for a Free Alignment Check or Complimentary Pit Stop service which includes checking your tire pressures, tire conditions and top off fluids. Safe travels! Samantha Gomez Service Drive Manager Hewlett Volkswagen, LP

ARE WE REALLY BACK TO NORMAL?

Welcome to the first edition of “ everything is back to normal, but much better” monthly newsletter. I say that with a grin and a bit of skepticism because we must go back some 4, maybe 5 years ago to attempt to define “normal”. First was COVID, then we had the micro-chip shortage, then the car shortage, then global supply chain issues, then, then, then…. It seemed like something new every few months. A lot has changed in these few years but nothing bigger than our new modern facility with a much larger showroom and additional service bays and service write up lanes. With our sales volume so strong and consistently ranked in the top ten nationally, Volkswagen has allocated to us additional vehicles above and beyond our normal allocation. At last count, we had close to 400 new Volkswagens in inventory to choose from. Good news for you, about the same time these additional vehicles hit our lot, VW also came out with some of the best incentives we’ve seen in 5 years. With interest rates climbing, Volkswagen knows that a great incentive would be a special interest rate that would save our customers thousands of dollars! For example, Volkswagen is offering: 0% for 60 months on all New Volkswagen Tiguan’s (over 140 in stock) And they’re offering, 1.9% for 60 months on all New Volkswagen Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport models (also over 140 in stock). April is a GREAT time to buy! With low rates, a plentiful inventory and a professional staff eager to get you into your next vehicle, there has never been a better time to come in and select your new vehicle. The deals are HOT, the selection is huge, the rates are low, what else can we ask for? The building… yes, it’s new too! Come see us! WHY BUY FROM HEWLETT VOLKSWAGEN?

First and foremost, FUN. Car buying is not only a big deal, it’s a big investment. Maybe it’s a statement about yourself but a new vehicle is always fun to drive – why not make it fun to buy? At Hewlett Volkswagen, we do just that! Our staff works so well together and has so much fun that the “fun” becomes contagious. It’s not uncommon to see them helping each other out, high fiving in the showroom, and celebrating birthdays together. When our customers see that we’re always smiling and having fun, the car buying experience itself becomes just that – fun! New Building Wow is this place awesome! Even I was impressed how it turned out and I knew what it was going to look like. Crisp new offices and furniture, images on the walls, spacious waiting areas, a much larger service drive, additional restrooms, the list goes on… Staff We’ve ramped up our staff to not only better serve you - but to do it faster. This is true for both sales and service. Inventory With our recent surge in sales last year (we rank #6 in the nation), VW has sent us tons of vehicles of all trim levels. Our inventory selection is better than it was pre-Covid days. In fact, we may have more inventory now that we’ve ever had in our 21 years of existence. If you wish to upgrade your vehicle or service the one you have, come see us. You’ll be “wowed” from the time you walk in and see a friendly smile from Nancy at the front desk until you leave with your service complete or your new vehicle keys in your hands. Hope we see you soon! John Chauvin, General Manager Hewlett Volkswagen

Hewlett Volkswagen, Recharged 2023!

The remodel is complete! Yes, the move back-in has been accomplished, the selection of vehicles is plentiful, and the staff is pumped! We did it! We finally finished the 18-month long process of this major remodel, and we got back to doing what we do best, selling and servicing our wonderful customer base and we get to do it all from one location. Obviously when you take on a project of this magnitude, it doesn’t come without questions and concerns. We at Hewlett VW were doing very well at and with our previous facility. A larger, more modernized and (obviously) more expensive facility begs the question, is it worth it? Will our customer base be better served? Will our process become faster and more streamlined? Will we be able to offer more new and pre-owned car selections, faster service and write-ups and shorter wait times? We are very aware that time is money and spending time at a dealership is not on the top of anyone’s list. Therefore, being customer centric has been our top priority with this entire project from the beginning. Several of these questions were answered in our first month of operation at our new facility. With the Thanksgiving holiday, November is historically just a “ho hum” month in terms of volume of sales, service, parts and overall business in general. Well…. Hewlett Volkswagen not only posted the best November ever, but we also broke an all-time store record in sales with 221 new and pre-owned sales for the month, in NOVEMBER! Records in the auto industry are meant to be broken in the busy summer months, not November. This wouldn’t be saying much if we had only been a dealer for 2 or 3 years, but we’ve been a Volkswagen dealer in Georgetown for over 20 years and we broke our own record in November! To top it all off, Volkswagen of America posted the national standings after we closed the month and Hewlett Volkswagen in Georgetown Texas, ranked #7 in new car volume for the entire nation! I’ve said it many times, the future is bright. New inventory is arriving daily, our new facility is complete, we’ve added staff to accommodate our customers and pure excitement from our employees has this place hopping! Come see the new facility and see what the excitement is all about, but fair warning, you may catch yourself doing a little dance because this is such a fun place to be. Thank you for your support, we wish you and your family all the best during this holiday season, and we hope to see you soon! John Chauvin General Manager – Hewlett Volkswagen

Why Does My Car Smell When I Turn On My Air Conditioner?

4 Helpful Tips Tom Fornshell, Service Director First, let me reassure you, the smell is not coming from you. Second, if your car sits outside all the time, the odor can be even worse. But don’t worry, we can help! Air conditioners have a cold component behind your dash area called an evaporator. This is the part that makes your cabin air colder. And just like that icy cold glass of sweet tea on your table, it sweats… a lot. In fact, it sweats so much, there is a specialized drain for the case the evaporator sits in. This thing leaks water all the time because the evaporator sweats; making it a great environment for bacteria and mold to grow. And, again, if your car sits outside where it gets up to 90 and 100+, these things grow and multiply. Pretty soon things start to smell. And to make matters worse, all the organic matter in the air like pollen, leaves, seed pods, insect parts, and dander can find their way into the evaporator case turning it into a warm, moist, dark, microbial kegger for mold and bacteria. There is a filter (sometimes called a pollen or cabin air filter) that keeps a lot of these undesirables out but that can start to smell foul too when it gets filled with this debris. Helpful tip #1: Replace the pollen filter. This is cheap and easy. Volkswagen recommends doing it every couple of years or 20,000 miles. The new maintenance schedules can stretch out to 60,000 miles, but that is like replacing the A/C filter in your house every three years! Helpful tip #2: Get the charcoal filter. There are a few types of filters in Volkswagens. Some are plain paper like your house A/C and some are charcoal impregnated. The charcoal helps with odors and is similar in price to the plain paper ones. If someone will not sell you a charcoal activated cabin or pollen filter, go somewhere else. Helpful tip #3: If you have severe allergies replace the filter every year preferably right after cedar season! Helpful tip #4: If none of this helps and the microbial kegger has been going on for a while, you will want to treat the interior of your evaporator system with an antimicrobial chemical. Replace your filter at the same time for the best results. I always tell everyone to fix safety related items before you fix the optional or secondary concerns. With ambient temperatures continuing in the three digits, air conditioners become safety items especially for very young or very old passengers. These tips are meant to be helpful in making owning your Volkswagen something to smile about. As always, Happy motoring. Tom Fornshell

August 2023, Construction Update

By John Chauvin, General Manager As I walk around the new construction, I am in awe of the space the new facility will have. While I don’t have the actual square footage of the buildings before and after memorized, it looks like the showroom, service department, service write-up area and service drive lanes all have doubled in size. Not only is it much larger, it looks totally different both inside and outside. Seriously, if you walk into the front door, about the only thing recognizable is the half spiral staircase that was in the showroom. Everything else has expanded, moved, and taken on an entirely new look. Windows are in, sheetrock is up (taped and floated), floor tile is starting to be installed and the air conditioner is on. The original restrooms have taken on a major overhaul and are much larger now. We’ve added additional restrooms to the service write-up area and have expanded the waiting room. This place is amazing, and I cannot wait to see the finish-out work as it gets completed. As for the parking lot, we have carved a driveway between our VW store and our Collision Center. The first few rows in front of the Collision Center will be turned into added display areas for new vehicles adding multiple parking spaces for us to stock even more inventory than years past. As for current business: I’ll admit, we were a little concerned about how moving into a temporary location (just 2 doors down) would affect normal business. To my delight, I’m excited to say, business increased. Yes, our old Hummer building has tons of parking for inventory which allows us to stock more cars, but one never knows how things will go when you “move their cheese” so to speak. We’ve added staff to accommodate for this growth, which also helps shorten the time spent when purchasing a new or pre-owned vehicle from us. I’m also proud to say, with added staff, more inventory, great deals and shorter wait times, we’ve moved into the Top 15 largest volume Volkswagen dealers in the entire nation. And we did it from a temporary location! Our next goal is to move into the top 10 which I’m extremely confident we’ll accomplish when we move into this new facility in just a few short months. Stay tuned for the GRAND OPENING celebration event. We’re planning a big one and you’re invited! Thank you very much for your business! John Chauvin – General Manager Hewlett Volkswagen, LP
