"I had a break light sensor issue problem on my 7 year old Jetta. The problem was identified in a few minutes by Jim, the shop foreman and was fixed. Instead of selling me a complete wire harness that would have cost a great deal, Jim, had some connector parts that were used by Magnum, the tech, to repair the problem to a like new condition. I was able to see the issue and Magnum showed me what he did to repair it. He was very efficient. They only charged me $12 for the part and less than an hour of time. Made me a very happy camper. They could have easily sold me a $100 plus wire harness, but were honest enough to do the repair effectively and efficiently. I have been going to Hewlett VW for 7 years now and feel very well taken care of. Samantha did her normal excellect job as the service writer as well. On top of all that, I received the senior discount, which many dealerships do not offer. Keep up the good work Hewlett VW and staff! Regards, Tony"

He explained that it was actually his first day, but he would find someone to help us right away. "On the late afternoon of Saturday, June 18, my VW Passat broke down leaving me stranded on the side of South Mopac in Austin, Texas. I had had trouble off and on during the previous days with the car not starting or dying at stop signs. But since the service department was booked until Monday, I continued to drive it to work. That afternoon after work, I attempted to go just a little out of my way to stop at the Domain shopping center. The car died just before the exit. Unable to restart the Passat this time, I was debating on the best course of action. I have AAA but they won't pick up a car if the driver isn't there with it and it was 106 degrees in Austin that day about 4pm. I wasn't terribly surprised to see someone stop on the frontage road below and walk up to my car to offer help. It was Austin after all. However, I was very much surprised to see that the gentleman was the Service Manager for the VW dealership in Georgetown where I purchased my car and regularly took it for repairs. Tom Fornshell was still wearing his nametag. He had worked all day and was returning home when he saw that I needed roadside assistance. Mr. Fornshell asked for details of the problem and called his mechanics to determine if a roadside repair was possible. They decided that it was probably one of three issues, none of which could be done there. So, we called AAA to arrange towing to Hewlett VW in Georgetown. Since it was an extremely hot day, Mr. Fornshell invited me to sit with him in his car with AC while we waited for AAA, probably 45 minutes. Once AAA picked up my car, he then drove me all the way back to the dealership himself where he gave me a drink, checked the condition of my car after the tow, and arranged for a loaner car. He also directed me home via an alternate route since I35 was closed due to a fatal accident. I cannot even begin to express my fullest thanks to Mr. Fornell for this."

”I will preface this review by saying two things: 1. I have been through the vehicle purchasing process 4 times now in the last 12 years. 2. A month prior to my purchase at Hewlett VW, I had a traumatizing experience with a Toyota Dealership in Arlington. He even took the time to demonstrate all of the options, ie: navigation, bluetooth, intellikey, etc. My favorite part about dealing with Ken, and all of the others I encountered at Hewlett, was that I never once felt an ounce of pressure. If they offered me something and I said I did not want it--that was it. No pressure, and they never made me feel guilty about saying, "No". Better yet...no guilty feeling for saying, "YES" to my 2011 Jetta--for once, I purchased a vehicle with no pressure.

I must also give kudos to Scott Morgan, Sales Manager; and Mark Eggleston, Finance Manager. Both made me feel like I was a valued customer--not like they were doing me some sort of favor (like all other dealership sales managers/finance managers I have encountered). Guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

If you are looking for a pleasant buying experience, Hewlett VW is the way to go. Ask for Ken--he won't disappoint. You may even be asking him for a hug instead of a handshake at the end of your transaction, like I did. :)

Joe was amazing. I went in thinking I knew what i wanted. As a seasoned Sales Executive I thought I had it all figured out.

Joe helped me take a step back and get the car that I needed and wanted, not just "something." He not only explained the PRO's of each car but some drawbacks as well. My wife and I live in Corpus Christi, Texas and called dealers all over Texas asking what bottom dollar on a 2010 Jetta w/ a manual transmission was. I went to pick up my new car and Russell exceeded my expectations making this experience perfect. He took a picture of me next to my new VW and sent me that with a personalized letter thanking me for adopting my Jetta from him at Hewlett VW. His follow through has been amazing and I'm happy to say he has far exceeded my expectations. So now I need to tell the other side of this which was a nightmare. I originally went to Charles Maund VW in Austin, TX and worked with Gordon Spencer. He did not have the 2010 Jetta Sportwagen TDI I wanted on the lot, so he got it in from another dealer. I went in to pick up the car - it was Gordon's day off, so Ken helped me. I walked around the car to check it out & saw a huge scratch on the driver's side near the front of the car. I touched it & said, "there's a scratch on my new car", then Ken touched it and said, "no, it's a dent." Ken said they would pound it out, then buff it and it would be like new. I was so excited to be getting this new car and it really took the wind out of me when I saw this and Ken's response didn't help. I felt like he thought I was being ridiculous in my reaction. He said they were going to fix this car either way & if I didn't want it, they could easily sell it to someone else. I told him I'd think about it overnight and he agreed they would try to get me another car if I decided this one wouldn't work. Gordon called & spoke with my husband the next day. Gordon thought it was silly that I didn't want this car - as 'it's only a dent & we can fix it'. My husband backed me and said 'she knows about it & it will drive her crazy to have that car now'. So Gordon finally agreed to find another car for me. I was not happy with my experience and sent the following email to Gordon on Saturday: Hi Gordon, I'm really disappointed that the car had a dent on it when we went to pick it up on Thursday. I was expecting a perfect car from Volkswagen and it fell far below my expectations with the dent. I've given this a lot of thought and if I take this car, I'm always going to know there was a dent on it before I got it and it got fixed. I'm Not okay with that. Buying a new car is supposed to be a great experience - especially when it's a Volkswagen - and it was until I saw the dent. I understand that was the only one in Texas like it, but I don't want a car that had a dent fixed on it. After driving the 17" tires and the 16" tires on Thursday, I can't tell that much of a difference. I remember you said it opens up a lot more cars if we go with the 16" tires. So let's go with the 16" tires. I put the requirements I have below. I'm flying out early Sunday morning and should be back on Friday around noon or so. If you can get the car in anytime next weekend, that would be great. Feel free to call the house at *** and leave a message once you have located the car. If we have another experience like this, I'm not sure I will want to go with a Volkswagen, as it is I'm a little leery now. Thanks, Laura Gordon wrote me back the following Thursday at 4:15pm and said, "Laura, I have your white/black diesel Sportwagen due in tomorrow. The new VIN is ***. Gordon" There was no empathy in his email, nothing saying I'm sorry about your experience and we'll make it better from here, nothing. My expectations were not even close to met from this email and that is when I made the final decision not to buy the car from Charles Maund. The only reason I even tried Hewlett was because I liked the car. I wish I would have went there first. If the sales guys do this poorly when you're a prospect, I don't think you can expect much more when it comes to service as an owner. I will never go to Charles Maund again. ”

Russell Blackstone is a gem! He was always punctual for our appointments, prepared, and very knowledgeable. He consistently told me what to expect and there were no surprises (except he was able to get my CC to me a few days earlier than expected, which was a lovely surprise). My wife and I bought a new Jetta TDI this morning from your dealership. I was told that your business would be sending out a “satisfaction” survey soon via e-mail. However, I would like to turn the tables & initiate the feedback without being asked.

I’m not sure what you’re paying Russell Blackstone---but give him a retention bonus, or pay raise…or something. He deserves it. He is, bar none, the finest salesman I’ve come across---no wait, that’s too bland….let’s call him a Vehicle Orientation Specialist (VOS)….that’s a more accurate assessment! J Heretofore, I have included on my top-5-professionals-I’d-like-to-head-slap list: lawyers, politicians, telemarketers, any front office staff associated with the Dallas Cowboys, and car salesmen.

My faith has been restored for one car salesman.

Russell is knowledgeable; informative; and passed the litmus test of answering far-reaching questions posed by my wife. He spent at least 3 ½ hours with us on our visit—never once indicating to us through body language or words that he had to move on to other customers.

I am a retired regional training director for the Dept of Army. I wish I would have had more instructors like him. I particularly liked the way he talks to you like a real person & looks you in the eye. He ushered us through each phase of the car-buying experience with polish and precision, explaining along the way what he was going to talk about, pointing out in detail what we needed to know, and then reviewing by summing up what he just told us. He was focused. He exudes confidence, which in turn puts the guest at ease. So refreshing.

He got to the point & didn’t fumble around; he didn’t patronize us with mindless small talk and phony smiles & nervous laughter….we didn’t have to wait for the dreaded “…let me call my manager in…” pitch. In other words, he is a smart professional who has people skills and unbelievable understanding of his product—it’s obvious the time and effort and study he has put into familiarizing himself with what he sells (there’s a novel idea!!). His delivery is right on. He follows up with promises; if he had to excuse himself for an interruption during our discussions, he did little things like say, “Excuse me, this is very important, but I will return very quickly.” He made us feel like WE were the reason he was there, rather than our feeling like we were an interruption to his day.

You’re extremely lucky, Mr. Hewlett, to have a pro like Russell. It’s rare these days….

It took very little time to discover the quality of Hewlett Volkswagen.  We were greeted with warmth and professionalism by the receptionist when first walking into the Hewlett environment.  "Josh" in the Finance Department never attempted to sell us superfluous warranty's but skillfully evaluated our driving needs directing us to making informed decisions.  The gentlemen that assisted us in the Parts Department when purchasing accessories, was most accommodating as well.  He went out of his way to show us certain products before we made our decision.  Last, we found the Hewlett  facility very clean and inviting lending to the felling that we were guests and not just a statistical customer.

We feel we have established a strong business relationship with you and Hewlett Volkswagen. We know that we can confidently refer our friends and family members when they are in the market for a vehicle purchase.

I picked up a new and nicely tricked out Jetta TDI Sport Wagen from Russell Blackstone last Friday. Russell spent about an hour showing me all the features and doing so with great enthusiasm. I have never had that experience before when buying a car. Normally the friendly service stops when the deal is agreed. Russell also found this car with the options I wanted in transit and traded a dealer for it. My first visit was to Charles Maunde and they had one on the lot and their attitude was "take it or leave it".

Thanks again to Russell. I did have to wait around another hour just to write a check as the finance guy was giving blood.

I am very pleased with the purchase i made i really never even looked at the Passat due to the price on them. I was very surprised at the car and the price when you showed it to me,but what really impressed me was the professionalism shown in selling me the car. I went to Charles Maund and received poor service and almost went home for the day. Decided to stop by Hewlitt Volkswagen to look at a car that had been sold already,a Jetta TDI and end up leaving with more car for less money. I just adore my car! I have had an amazing time driving around and putting to use all the information Russell gave me! Where do I begin? We have bought many cars in our years in the Georgetown/Austin area and usually with much dread. Every time we go into a lot or dealership the salesmen come at us like vultures like we are their prey and then the games begin. It’s always such a hassle trying to negotiate the best deal. Then if they make the sale, it’s like pulling teeth to get them to do what they promised and if anything on the car needs attention, they seem to dodge the issues and make you feel uncomfortable. Well not at Hewlett! When we walked into the Hewlett VW dealership on Saturday, September 27, 2008 we met Russell Blackstone to give us a test drive in a used 2005 Convertible Bug which he had on the lot. He had been exchanging emails with my husband for a couple of weeks and knew we were interested. We came with the idea we would test-drive a beetle to decide if we really felt comfortable in the small car after driving larger cars for many years. I had owned a 1968 VW bug as my first car and had always dreamed of owning another one; never really thinking the dream would come true. From the moment we entered Hewlett VW and met Russell, we felt at home and part of a family and were treated like no other dealership has ever treated us. It was the most pleasant, relaxing, easy and comfortable experience we had ever had with anything! Russell spent a lot of time with us and demonstrated and explained all the features of the New Beetles and how safe they are and how well they perform. Following the demo we took a test drive of the 2005 convertible and we found everything he told us to be true. The car was comfortable and handled superbly! Russell was wonderful as we moved into discussions about the purchase. He said Hewlett's policy was to price cars to sell and make sure the customer had a pleasant experience buying a car. Well that is exactly what happened and that night we bought the car! My husband is always skeptical regarding salesman and has never done any buying on the spot, usually taking several days or weeks of evaluation. He felt extremely comfortable, knew we were getting the best deal and Russell made it so easy. Russell never appeared to be "selling" us a car but making sure we were getting our questions answered. We can not say enough nice things about him!!!!!! We also had the opportunity to meet the parts manager and of course the finance manager and we really had a wonderful experience with them too! Russell, thank you so much for all your help and caring for us in the purchase of our VW convertible. I am in love with it and so happy that you helped to make my dream come true. I can not stop talking about what a wonderful job you did before, during and after the sale. In fact, the things you have done after the sale have blown us away! I must admit, when I walked on your car lot last week it was as if I was going to battle. I felt as though I was a perfect target, unhappy with the car I was in and determined to get out, female, alone, decent down payment in hand, excellent payment history on current auto loan, and major baggage (significant negative equity & blemishes on my credit). Once being referred to as “a new car salesman dream come true”, I purposed to be prepared when purchasing my next car. Therefore, I researched and obtained as much information as possible about car sales, trade-ins, scams and the games salesmen and dealerships play. Armored and prepared to do battle, I drove slowly into the parking lot, took a few deep breaths while entering the building, surveying the surroundings. I observed interactions between the staff and their customers while attempting to discern the truth behind their smiles. This was WAR!!!

To my surprise there were no pushy salespeople walking around. Wow . There was no feeling of pressure in the atmosphere. The front desk attendant was pleasant and unhurried when she informed me you would be out shortly, offering me a drink while I waited. I shook your hand cautiously as you introduced yourself. I was observant of your presentation and mannerisms and although I remained cautious, I was a little less suspicious. After you shared your background and experiences and having read your customer’s testimonials I began to feel like I was dealing with a professional and knowlegable salesman, not a crook, nor an eager and unexperienced salesperson invested in commission and quota's only. When it became evident that I was not going to be pressured to make a commitment, it was then I became open to proceed, ultimately making a purchase. I feel confident in saying I know you did your best to accommodate me by getting me into the type of car I wanted, at a fair price, and the best interest rate possible. And you did what you said you would do which was to make sure I understood everything pertaining to the sale and financing of my purchase. When I asked questions, and I had questions, both you and Brett took your time answering and were patient if you had to repeat or clarify any information. No fast talk or confusing answers.

I feel good about the purchase and I am really enjoying my car. It’s spacious and comfortable, it rides well and affords me more safety than the other thing (no names aplease) I was driving, it's practical and has features I can use and appreciate. I'm not only enjoying my car because it’s Beautiful ,
I'm enjoying it because of the experience I had during the purchase. I was treated with respect and as a valued customer. I sincerely believe that both you and Brett were invested in affording me the best deal and experience possible, ensuring my satisfaction . MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!!

Just a bit if personal trivia, I have for the past 25 years always bought new cars. I just did not want to inherit someone elses problems. But this car has been pure joy, nothing but fun so far. The mileage is great and it gets alot of attention. I don't know why, maybe the color and it appears to have been well maintained as well. The only thing I had to do was swap out the stereo, but thats to be expected on 6 year old car.

But to mention also, the buying experience was fantastic. I could not have been better received during this transaction. The other dealers in the past were good, some not so good. But Hewlett VW, yourself and everyone there beat them all.

Just to let you know we should be back some time soon to purchase a car from the Chevy side. Theresa is gathering the paperwork for her daughter and she finally received the title in hand for the trade. Fortunately it is still registered in Williamson County. So hopefully it will be in a month to 6 weeks. She has to apply for that incentive from the county.

You answered all of our questions & made us feel very at ease throughout the car buying process which can be nerve wracking at times. You even went the extra mile by taking time out of your busy schedule to help us surprise Trianna later on that day. She was really surprised & beyond herself when you told her it was her car! The picture you sent us of Trianna clearly shows that surprised-look facial expression when you handed her the keys. She loves her new Scion TC & can't wait to start driving it soon. We can't believe that we found such a great car at the price range that we wanted to stay at. We felt that it was priced accurately, that there was no need to negotiate. After all the car searching that we had done for almost 3 months & almost at the point of buying a car at another dealership, we were ecstatic to finally find the perfect first car for Trianna. It has all the safety features that we looking for with a total of 8 airbags! We will certainly be more at ease knowing that our 16 year old daughter will be more protected when she is driving. We felt such a relief that we didn't end up buying the Scion at the other dealership, which only had 2 frontal airbags. It's funny how things happen & I'll tell you why. We were on my way out the door to go purchase the other car after convincing ourselves that we weren't going to find another Scion TC & it was pretty close to what we were wanting in a car, but for some reason we didn't feel like it was the right car for our daughter. Well...something told me to look on auto trader one more time & my eyes got so big when I saw that Hewlett VW had just added a new listing for a Scion TC the night before. So I immediately called you to check if the car was still available & you said "yes!" So we rushed to your dealership hoping that the car would not sell before we got there. You were there waiting for us & you very efficiently explained everything we needed to know about this car & some. After test driving the car, Izzy & I didn't even think twice about wanting to buy it. It was the perfect car at the right price! It was exactly what we were looking for in a car for our daughter. God must've been watching over us that day, because of the way things transpired. We were so close to buying the other car, but things happened & we ended up buying the Scion TC from the Hewlett VW dealership instead. And not only did we get a great car, we were also very fortunate to receive such great customer service from you! That is something hard to find these days. The level of customer service you gave us exceeded our expectations. We felt like you were out to satisfy our needs in a car for our 16 year old daughter, & not just looking to make a sale. You were also very kind by even offering us some of your personal snack bars to my husband & myself when I mentioned to you that we had left the house without having time to eat breakfast because we rushed to get to the dealership asap. By the way, I am hooked on those wonder bars! They are the best tasting nutritional snack bars I have ever eaten. They are awesome!

I was interested in the 2005 VW Passat Wagon GLS, after visiting your showroom on three different occasions and dealing with Carlos and a few other members of your staff, I decided to indeed purchase a 2005 VW Passat Wagon. I purchased the above mentioned vehicle not "vehiocle" as you referred to it below from Hewlett Volkswagen in Georgetown. Their staff unlike yours, were actually knowledgeable about their product and did not try to sell me something I was did not want for sticker price. Would you be confident buying something from a person who can't even spell the product they're selling? I think not! It is a shame that members of this community have to drive over an hour out of their way to receive decent service. It would behoove your staff to try to educate themselves on the difference between a "5 speed automatic transmission with overdrive, Tiptronic sequential sport shift" and a "5 speed manual transmission with overdrive" they are NOT the same. And if a customer has a specific color in mind (Stonehenge gray) do not show them the united gray and try to tell them it's the color they requested, it just makes the customers angry to think that you believe we are ignorant. So, to answer your question below, I am not interested in buying a "vehiocle" nor a vehicle from Automax, I already have a Stonehenge Gray 2005 VW Passat Wagon GLS that I purchased a month ago from a true salesman-Russell Blackstone of Hewlett Volkswagen and I love it! v/r Lorraine. we have had such good luck with our golf tdi you sold to us, thank you. i'm sure the hewlett service dept. has had a lot to do with such a good car. bonnie and i drove it to maine this summer, back seats down and full to the top with camping junk...even more added as we returned. that was a long trip but that little diesel carried us there and back without a problem. the cheapest part of this endless trip was the fuel. we averaged 43mpg with 47 achieved several times and a high of 48mpg....we're pleased. even in the mountains and with all of the added weight there was no problem with the performance and acceleration. i should also mention, the sun roof is the thing to have when cruising slow through the mountains so now i'm glad we decided to get one. good to hear from you, bill S. I have purchased approximately 30-40 automobiles; everything from a 1958 Fiat to a 1957 Thunderbird, and two Avalanches most recently. The easiest one I have had is purchasing my new vehicle from Hewlett Volkswagen. Russell handled the deal for me over the phone and even picked out the perfect car for me sight unseen. He explained everything possible about the car over the phone; went out to the lot while he was talking to me and described the cars available; and then quoted a price that beat the Lubbock Dealership by $4,500 and beat the Abilene Dealership by approximately $2,500.
We were then introduced to Mr. James Cotton, one of your finance people. He also treated us very professionally including not pressing us (as has been my experience in the past) to the breaking point about purchasing the additional items it is his job to sell.
I recommend your dealership; it was well worth the trip.

We have purchased numerous vehicles in other venues over the years and always experienced a stressful, competitive and in some cases, argumentative hostile environment.  This WAS NOT the case when working with you.  Your honesty and product knowledge allowed us to make an informed decision not only about the Jetta  but allowed us to compare and contrast related  competitive  products we were considering.  We really valued the course of action taken when the final discussion focused on the price of the vehicle.  Your business approach was direct and put us very much at ease.  I did not feel I was being hustled or manipulated which, in my opinion, has been the standard negotiating strategy when dealing with other automobile sales dealerships.

It took very little time to discover the quality of Hewlett Volkswagen. We were greeted with warmth and professionalism by the receptionist when first walking into the Hewlett environment.Josh in the Finance Department never attempted to sell us superfluous warranty's but skillfully evaluated our driving needs directing us to making informed decisions. The gentlemen that assisted us in the Parts Department when purchasing accessories, was most accommodating as well.  He went out of his way to show us certain products before we made our decision. Last, we found the Hewlett facility very clean and inviting lending to the felling that we were guests and not just a statistical customer.

We feel we have established a strong business relationship with you and Hewlett Volkswagen. We know that we can confidently refer our friends and family members when they are in the market for a vehicle purchase.

I, Arturo and my wife Joni were very satisfied with our experience at Hewlett VW. Paul Cano was very professional and a down to earth guy which made my wife and I very comfortable. The sales persons were not at all pushy or in a rush to sell a car. They are very calm and passive. My wife and I were surprised that they worked with us even though we live in San Antonio. We were actually going to buy a Kia Sorento from a Volvo dealership, but they were to eager to get us in and out the door. We drove all the way to Georgetown which was 1 1/2 hours away. But at the end it was worth it. We paid $1000.00 more but our used car came with new tires and brakes and is power everything. Even a moon roof. I highly recommend that everyone drops in before you go anywhere else. Its worth the drive and our salesman Paul Cano even took us to lunch while our car was being washed and detailed. I have never met anyone as professional as the sales persons at Hewlett VW. Not even when I bought my Scion xB in Savannah, GA were they this good. Definetly drop in and don't be taken advantaged of somewhere.
